Digital Signature Certificates can be obtained paperless through the 'Aadhaar Offline EKYC' procedure for Aadhaar card holders. As part of an Aadhaar-based KYC verification process, the application is carried forward after a digital verification of the applicant has been completed. Applying for a DSC application to generate orders and download the DSC is quick and can be completed within 15-20 minutes.

Any person or entity who has been granted a license to issue a digital signature certificate is recognised as a digital certifying authority (CA) under the information technology (IT) Act 2000. A prospective CA is audited by the controller of certifying authorities, the ministry of IT, to ensure compliance requirements are met, then granted a license.

Overview - An Overview of Digital signature certificate (DSC)

Digital Signature Certificates are secure digital keys issued by certifying authorities to authenticate and confirm the identity of the individual holding them. Using public-key encryption, digital signatures are created.

In a digital signature certificate (DSC), the user's name, pin code, country, email address, date of issuance, and certifying authority's name are included.

Benefits - Benefits of Digital Signature Certificates

The main reason a company requires ISO certification is if it is required by law or contract. Some companies and government tenders may require only ISO-rated services to be used. The secondary reasons for adhering to the criteria are as follows:

                  • Authentication

Used to verify the individual's personal information online.

                  • Reduced cost and time

Digitally signing the PDF files is much faster than physically signing hard copies and scanning them to send via e-mail. To conduct or authorise a business, a Digital Signature certificate holder does not need to be physically present.

                  • The authenticity of documents

A digitally signed document gives the receiver confidence in the signer's authenticity. With such documents, they do not have to worry about forged documents preventing them from taking action.

Checklist - Compliance With Statutory Requirements Through DSC

                  • Individuals and entities who are required to get their accounts audited must use a digital signature when filing their income tax returns
                  • Furthermore, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs requires all reports, applications, and forms to be signed with a digital signature only
                  • GST registration can also be obtained only through a digital signature on the GST application
                  • A digital signature is required for filing applications, amendments, and other related forms.

Process - Application for a Digital Signature Certificate Online

With Zolvit, we make it as easy as possible for you to complete your DSC online registration in just three steps:

                  Step 1: Form Submission

Name, gender, address, nationality, country, e-mail ID, mobile number, and usage type of DSC will be collected. This could be for company incorporation, MCA e-filing, IT filing, GST filing, foreign trade, e-tenders, or personal use. Choosing the right class and submitting the form will also be guided by us.

                    Step 2: Online Documentation

We will collect and submit all required documents, such as a PAN card, address proof, passport, etc., for review.

                      Step 3: Fee Payment

The document will be validated in two ways after payment has been made, and the information has been verified against your PAN card as in the income tax portal

Video recording: You will receive a video link to your registered mobile number and email address, where you will record your name, DOB, etc. and send it to us

SMS: The DSC application ID and a mobile number will be sent to you via SMS, and you must reply with your DSC application ID, name, mobile number, and e-mail ID.

                        Classes of DSC

A DSC must be obtained based on the request's nature and purpose and the applicant's type. Certificates issued by certifying authorities come in three types.

                        • Class 1 Certificates: These are issued to individual/private subscribers and verify that the subscriber's name and email address are in the database of the certifying authority.
                        • Class 2 Certificates: These are issued to directors/signatory authorities of companies for e-filing with the Registrar of Companies (ROC). Filing returns with the ROC requires a Class 2 certificate.
                        • Class 3 Certificates: Online participation/bidding in e-auctions and online tenders in India is possible. Participants in the online tenders must have a Class 3 digital signature certificate.

                        FAQ's

Digital Signature Certificates (DSCs) authenticate your identity electronically. A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) ensures absolute privacy of the information exchanged during online transactions. Certificates can sign/encrypt information so only the intended recipient can read it. Information can be digitally signed to ensure that it has not been modified in transit and to verify your identity as the sender.
According to the Information Technology Act 2000 in India, Digital Signature Certificates (DSC) are legally valid. Following the Information Technology Act, Licensed Certifying Authorities issue Digital Signature Certificates (DSCs).
Trademark / Patent filing requires a Class 3 Company / Organization User certificate. Class 3 is the highest level of digital signatures. It can be issued for 1 or 2 years. Users must renew class 3 digital signature certificates after the valid period.
Income Tax, ROC, and MCA filing require a Class 2 Digital Signature Certificate. A Class 2 Digital Signature Certificate is valid for 1 or 2 years. Users must renew class 2 digital signature certificates after the valid period. Digital Signature certificates can be issued to individuals or organisations.
A DSC issued by a licensed Certifying Authority (CA) is required for e-filing on the MCA Portal.
Root certificates are either unsigned public vital certificates or self-signed certificates that identify the Root Certificate Authority (CA). The root certificate is an anchor of trust in a digital certificate, which validates the entire certification chain.
