                  According to Section 4 of PSARA: No private company or individual can commence the business of Private Security Agencies without holding the license or permission from the authority. Though the Ministry of Home Affairs administers PSARA, the licensing authority remains in the hands of State Governments.

                  Process PSARA License

                  • Step 1: Organise All the Necessary Documents

A clear and legible copy of the papers about the various registrations and the promoter's and directors' details is crucial.                   • Step 2: Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) With Training Institute

                    An applicant must enter into an MoU with the training institute to provide training to its candidates on the home page of https://psara.gov.in/. An agency with training will have greater appeal, and it will be able to hire high-quality employees. The agency offers ex-servicemen a certain amount of relaxation and exemption regarding training.

                  • Step 3: Filing of the Application

                    A PSARA license application (Form-I) must be filed with the respective state authority once all the necessary steps have been completed. Form-II should also be enclosed for verification of the applicant's antecedents. An affidavit must accompany Form-I in Form-III.

                  • Step 4: Police Verifying

                    Verification by the police is the next step. Verification will take place after Form-I has been filed. If the agency is a partnership or a company, the respective directors will also be required to provide police verification.

                  • Step 5: Licensing of PSARA

                    After verifying the application with the NOC from the police, the authority will examine the application and either grant the PSARA License in Form-IV or reject it.
