      Overview - An Overview of Udyam (SSI / MSME) Registration

      The term MSME refers to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. MSME industries are the backbone of the Indian economy, especially in a developing country such as ours. Growth in these industries leads to a flourishing economy in the country as a whole. Small-scale industries are also known as SSIs.

      Regardless of whether the company is in the manufacturing or service industry, registrations can be obtained under the MSME act. The registration is not yet mandatory, but it is beneficial to get one's business registered because it offers a lot of benefits when it comes to taxation, setting up a business, credit facilities, and loans.

            A trade license can be obtained online by following the steps below:

              Step 2: Fill Application Form:

              Your first step is to fill out the MSME Registration form with basic information about your business, including the company name, registration number, GST number, etc.

              Step 3: Enter Personal Details:

              As part of the registration process for MSME, you must fill in all your personal information, including your name, address, PAN card, bank account details, and some common information. A photo must also be uploaded. To upload a photo, ensure its size is within the site's permissible limits.

              An MSME executive will review your application during this process. A discrepancy will be notified to you, and you will be required to make the necessary

            Features of MSME/Udyog Aadhar Registration

            Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises may register under the MSMED Act for a number of benefits and access to subsidies and schemes launched by the Government of India.

            Documents Required for Udyam Registration

            Udyam's registration process is entirely online and does not require any documents to be uploaded. Before applying for Udyam Registration, the proprietor or owner of the enterprise must have the following documents:

            • Proprietorship firms must enter the Aadhar number of the proprietor in the Udyam Registration form
            • Partnership firms must enter the Aadhar number of the managing partner in the Udyam Registration form
            • Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs) must enter Karta's Aadhar number in the Udyam Registration form
            • In the Udyam Registration form, the Aadhar number of the organisation or authorised signatory must be entered if it is a company, limited liability partnership, cooperative society, society, or trust
            • PAN card
            • GSTIN (GST identification number), if the enterprise must register under GST law.

            What MSME Enterprises Means?

            Udyam's registration process is entirely online and does not require any documents to be uploaded. Before applying for Udyam Registration, the proprietor or owner of the enterprise must have the following documents:

            • Micro Enterprises: There is no doubt that micro-enterprises are the smallest entities. Manufacturing micro-enterprises invest less than ₹25 lakh in plant and machinery. In comparison, micro-service enterprises invest less than ₹10 lakhs.
            • Small Enterprises: The investment in plant and machinery may range from ₹25 lakhs to ₹ 5 crores for small manufacturing enterprises. In comparison, those for small service enterprises may range from ₹10 lakhs to ₹2 crores.
            • Medium Enterprises: A medium manufacturing firm may have invested between five crores and ten crores in plant and machinery, while a small service firm may have invested between two crores and five crores.

            What MSME Enterprises Means?

            Small businesses and service providers need to register for MSME/Udyog Aadhar only if they wish to access government perks and subsidies. It is absolutely voluntary. The good news is that it's easy to get (if you have a manufacturing plant or a commercial space where you provide services), so many businesses opt for it.
