Eligibility Checklist for Obtaining a State Food License in West Bengal

• Hotels with 4-star ratings or less.
• Food storages with an annual capacity of under 50,000 tons.
• Dairy units with daily handling or process limits between 500-50000 litres, including milk chilling Units.
• Those with capacity to slaughter more than 2 animals and up to 50 large animals daily/ more than 10 and up to 150 small animals/ more than 50 to 1000 poultry birds per day or more.
• Food business operators, suppliers, wholesalers, distributors, retailers, food sales facilities, dhaba restaurants, clubs, canteens, and restaurants with an annual turnover of ₹ 12 to ₹ 20 crores.
• Proprietary food dealers
• Producers and processors of vegetable oil units, including oil expeller units, by the solvent extraction process and by refineries. With an annual turnover of ₹ 12 to ₹ 20 crores.
• All food production units with a daily capacity of not less than 100 kg/litre, including re-packers, up to 2 tonnes.
• All small or medium-sized food companies with either a single or several branches in West Bengal can obtain state FSSAI license registration.
