Overview - An Overview of FSSAI Registration

Zolvit makes it easy to register and license for FSSAI. An FSSAI registration is required for anyone who prepares, manufactures, stores, transports or handles food. In India, you must register with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). FSSAI also sets rules and regulations for food businesses in India. Depending on the size and nature of the business, you might need an FSSAI license or registration. Under the Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Indian government, the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) is an autonomous body. FSSAI is responsible for licensing and regulating food-related businesses in India due to the FSSAI Act.

Benefits - Benefits of FSSAI Registration

The main reason a company requires ISO certification is if it is required by law or contract. Some companies and government tenders may require only ISO-rated services to be used. The secondary reasons for adhering to the criteria are as follows:

                      • 1. Consumer Awareness

Nowadays, consumers are more aware and knowledgeable about the food quality they eat. People need to know that the food they're eating isn't just safe but is of good quality with all the diets and healthy eating options. Especially after the recent controversy with Maggi, consumers are starting to take food safety seriously. Thus, food is proving to have the FSSAI license, which can give you an added advantage of a solid customer base.

                      • 2. Legal Advantage:

Getting an FSSAI license is generally seen by business owners as an expensive, time-consuming, and inconvenient documentation process. Yet, the process is not so complex, and there are a number of consultancies that can assist you. The actual cost of obtaining the license is less than what you will be forced to pay in penalties if caught. Business people should therefore receive the license before officially opening their doors.

                      • 3. Using the FSSAI Logo

You can use the FSSAI logo on menu cards and pamphlets to promote the superior quality of your food once you have the license. As a result, you have an advantage over many other food operators who do not have a food license. Thus, all packaged food must have an FSSAI number. Consumers view the logo as a mark of validity and assurance. Selective customers prefer food products that have a license. Developing a brand name is made more accessible by it.

                      • 4. Business Expansion

If you decide to expand your business, you can easily do so with your FSSAI license. The license will enable you to establish your reputation and gain the qualifications to grow your business in a new direction. Further, a license can make it easier for you to get bank loans and funding for expansion.According to estimates, there are more than five crore food businesses in the country. Still, only 33 lakh of them are registered with the FSSAI. It is beneficial in the short and long term for your business to have an FSSAI license due to the importance of the quality standard.
